West Bengal has organized the 26th State Age Group Chess Championships at the Kshudiram Anushilam Kendra, Kolkata, India from 24th to 27th January 2014. 

The championship will have total maximum number of nine rounds of game that will be played in FIDE SWISS LEAGUE SYSTEM with one time control of 1hr 30 minutes each.


The minimum eligibility of the 26th State Chess Championships is the participants’ age. Age as on 01-01-2014 shall be taken into account for determining the age groups. The groups are divided as: UNDER 7,   UNDER 9, UNDER 11, and UNDER 13.  


This event is one of its kinds with participants from all parts of the state. The inauguration of the championship took place at 11 am on 24th January 24, 2014 and the first round of the program will started at 3 pm in the afternoon.  This State Age Group Chess Championships will see its closing ceremony on 27th January with prize distribution at 5.30 pm.


This Championship is open to all residents of West Bengal only.  According to the rules of the championship, the VALID BCA Registration Card/ Receipt are to be produced at the time of entry. All interested players are requested to register themselves with the BCA for the year 2014 by filling up the prescribed forms and paying the requisite fees of Rs. 100 along with two stamps sized colored photos and one copy of Birth Certificate.


All chess players were required to register through online registrations which were made at the official website www.bengalchess.org. After registration, one ID number was issued for every participant. The brochure published by Bengal chess organization contains all the details regarding   the championship, time schedule, eligibility criteria and other necessary information. 


Kshudiram Anushilam Kendra, Kolkata situated in Canning District South 24 Parganas, West Bengal is the center of sports activity.  This place has been organizing several popular sports events.
