After receiving great worldwide response organisers are arranging ACO World Amateur Chess Championship like previous years, this year it will be taking place from 07-16 June, 2014 on the island of Rhodes, Greece, in a complex of 4 and 5 star hotels. this year players from 24 countries with participating members around 225 are expected to attend the event.

The 8th Wunsiedel Chess Festival was held from 29th May to 1st June, 2014 in the town of Wunsiedel. The event was a 7 round Swiss Open with the Fischer time control which included 40 moves in 90 min plus 15 minutes for the rest of the game additionally another 30 seconds increment were given starting from move 1.

The Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament organized in Malmö, Sweden saw Laurent Fressinet of France wining the 22nd edition. In an event that only lasted five rounds, three and a half point was acquired by the 32-year-old French grandmaster to finish clear first and half a point ahead of IM Axel Smith.
