Description
Why Was This Course Created?
First and foremost, we need to develop our pieces from their initial positions, control the center, and seize the initiative. As the first World Chess Champion, Wilhelm Steinitz, famously stated, "Whoever has the initiative should attack." Once we have developed our pieces and gained the initiative, we need to understand how to transform that advantage into a successful attack.
The good news is that attacking is a skill that can be learned and developed through the right methods and practical training. This is exactly why GM Sergey Kasparov and Angelo Kesaris created the course "The Best Attacking Techniques in Chess." Throughout this course, you will develop a comprehensive toolkit of attacking techniques, strategic ideas, tactical patterns, and practical methods that will help you recognize and execute powerful attacks.
After the opening phase, the position of the enemy king often gives us important clues about where and how we should attack. Depending on the structure of the position, we may attack a king that has castled kingside (0-0), a king protected by a fianchetto, or a king that has castled queenside (0-0-0). Strong players understand these attacking possibilities and know how to use the position of the enemy king to create practical threats. This course will help you develop the same understanding and apply these techniques in your own games.
